Please continue to make sure your child(ren) are healthy and feeling well before sending them to school.
If you are late to school (after 9:00 am), your child(ren) must enter through the upper front door by the salmon mural and check-in at the office. The upper front door is now unlocked during the day so no need to call or ring the doorbell. All parents entering the school must enter through the upper front door and check-in at the office.
If your child(ren) will be absent from school, please email souattendance@vsb.bc.ca or phone 604-713-5159 as soon as possible and leave your child's name, division number, the date and whether they will be absent or late. If you phone, you will be required to use a school code. The Southlands school code is 79#.

Join us for this month's PAC meeting. Every parent and caregiver with a child at Southlands is automatically part of the Parent Advisory Council. Join other parents on Zoom on Oct 24 at 7pm, and hear about the plans for the upcoming year.

Hello Southlands families!
Spirit wear sales are coming soon! Families will be able to order Southlands hoodies and tshirts via Munchalunch. Stop by the PAC table on October 25th and 26th where we will have a limited selection of t shirts available for sale, as well as sample sizes of shirts and hoodies for try-ons. Be on the lookout for backpack mail with more info!

This fall, ONE TO ONE is hosting a virtual workshop for interested parents/caregivers of beginning readers in Grade 1 (and 2) called Come Read with Me.
The session is on Wednesday, November 8 at 7 p.m over Zoom. The workshop will run for approximately 60 minutes with time for questions after.

Come Read with Me is an interactive facilitated by ONE TO ONE educators and is designed to give parents and caregivers the opportunity to learn positive strategies to help them support their children when reading at home. Participating families will receive a digital resource package.
This program is available at no cost to families across British Columbia through the generous support of our donors.
