The Point Grey Food Bank Society is honored to be collaborating with Southlands this year!
Every year, Point Grey Secondary runs a food drive for the Directions Youth Services and the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. Last year, they raised more than 40,000 in cans and money. For 2025, their operations have expanded, and their new goal has increased to 60,000 cans. They have enough volunteers and resources to collaborate with Southlands Elementary, and we are happy to help and show our supportive spirit.
Donations to the Vancouver Food Bank can be made in one of the following options:
1. Healthy nonperishable food items (ESPECIALLY: canned tuna or salmon, canned soup or stew, plain pasta, and diapers).
2. Money. Cheques should be written to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society which will subsequently provide tax receipts (name and address required). You can also donate directly via this link. https://vfd.foodbank.bc.ca/fundraiser/pointgreyschool. Cash is also accepted if necessary.
We will have boxes and envelopes in each classroom (division). The collection will start on Tuesday November 25th, and continue until Thursday, December 4th.
