Please continue to make sure your child(ren) are healthy and feeling well before sending them to school.
If you are late to school (after 9:00 am), your child(ren) must enter through the upper front door by the salmon mural and check-in at the office. The upper front door is now unlocked during the day so no need to call or ring the doorbell. All parents entering the school must enter through the upper front door and check-in at the office.
If your child(ren) will be absent from school, please email souattendance@vsb.bc.ca or phone 604-713-5159 as soon as possible and leave your child's name, division number, the date and whether they will be absent or late. If you phone, you will be required to use a school code. The Southlands school code is 79#.

Hello, Southlands Sockeyes!

Did you know: on Friday mornings, we have 17 UBC students at Southlands. They are so happy to be here and are learning a lot from our staff and students. We are pleased to be supporting new teachers!

Join us for this month's PAC meeting. Every parent and caregiver with a child at Southlands is automatically part of the Parent Advisory Council. Join other parents in the school library on Sep 26 at 6pm, and hear about the plans for the upcoming year.

Dear Southlands Community,
By example, Terry Fox led us to believe we can all make a difference in the lives of others. Step-by-step he ran, and on Monday, September 25, 2023, at 1:30 pm, step-by-step our students will run along side his inspiration. We have challenged Southlands to raise a Toonie per student, #Toonies4Terry. However, donations of any amount will be accepted. Funds donated will help to ensure continued research into the treatment and cure of cancer.
We will be collecting donations each morning until Friday, September 29th.
As we strive to make a difference, we do so while inspired by the memory of how a single man captured the attention of a nation in a heroic act of selflessness and generosity. Should you have any further questions, please contact your child’s classroom teacher.
