Please continue to make sure your child(ren) are healthy and feeling well before sending them to school.
If you are late to school (after 9:00 am), your child(ren) must enter through the upper front door by the salmon mural and check-in at the office. The upper front door is now unlocked during the day so no need to call or ring the doorbell. All parents entering the school must enter through the upper front door and check-in at the office.
If your child(ren) will be absent from school, please email souattendance@vsb.bc.ca or phone 604-713-5159 as soon as possible and leave your child's name, division number, the date and whether they will be absent or late. If you phone, you will be required to use a school code. The Southlands school code is 79#.

Hello, Southlands Sockeyes!
You may have noticed some temporary fencing in the front of the school. This is for the installation of our Musqueam House Post. We are looking forward to the day it is installed, and we will have a special celebration. Stay tuned!
A reminder to please send students dressed for any weather. We go outside rain or shine for recess and after eating lunch.
Also - please remember to send cutlery on hot lunch days as it does not come with forks or spoons. Enjoy the week ahead.

Hello Southlands families!
Spirit wear sales are coming soon! Families will be able to order Southlands hoodies and tshirts via Munchalunch. Stop by the PAC table on October 25th and 26th where we will have a limited selection of t shirts available for sale, as well as sample sizes of shirts and hoodies for try-ons. Be on the lookout for backpack mail with more info!

Southlands PAC Fundraising with Rogers Arena
On Saturday, October 9th, some of our PAC volunteers took part in a fundraising program offered by Rogers Arena. The volunteers sold 50/50 tickets at the arena to fans arriving for the Peter Gabriel concert, and in return, Rogers Arena will donate $500 to Southlands PAC! It was a fun experience for the volunteers and a wonderful way to raise some funds for our school. Many thanks to Priya, Renee, Nina, Caroline, and especially Carol who coordinated the event for Southlands.
Schools can take part once a year, so keep your eye out in 2024/25 for the next opportunity to join in!
