Please continue to make sure your child(ren) are healthy and feeling well before sending them to school.
If you are late to school (after 9:00 am), your child(ren) must enter through the upper front door by the salmon mural and check-in at the office. The upper front door is now unlocked during the day so no need to call or ring the doorbell. All parents entering the school must enter through the upper front door and check-in at the office.
If your child(ren) will be absent from school, please email souattendance@vsb.bc.ca or phone 604-713-5159 as soon as possible and leave your child's name, division number, the date and whether they will be absent or late. If you phone, you will be required to use a school code. The Southlands school code is 79#.

Hello Southlands Families.
This Friday is Sports Day! It will be our first Sports Day since before the pandemic and we are having it at the Musqueam soccer field at the end of Musqueam Drive. Parents/guardians are welcome to walk down with classes at about 9:30 or meet us there. Please note - there will be very limited parking at the soccer field. As I write this Sunday morning, the forecast is for rain, but we hope that will change! Please have students dress for any weather. Student lunches will be provided courtesy of the PAC.
Also of note, on Tuesday, June 20th we will be having a volunteer appreciation coffee/tea and treats at 8:30 am, followed by an assembly just after 9:00. All parents/guardians are welcome. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our amazing little school.

PAC will be raffling a Choices Markets gift card and a gift basket from Jar Bar Refillery on Sports Day. We need parent volunteers to help with our concession/raffles table. If you are able to volunteer or have any questions, please email Renee at southlands.elementary@gmail.com

Thanking our Teachers
As we come to the end of the school year and prepare for summer vacation, we want to take this time to thank our teachers for all of their hard work. We are a free program that provides opportunities for youth to learn about seamanship, sailing, and other nautical activities while providing world-class leadership training.
We meet every Wednesday evening from 6:30-9 pm at HMCS Discovery 1200 Stanley park drive. We hope to see you there!
