Please continue to make sure your child(ren) are healthy and feeling well before sending them to school.
If you are late to school (after 9:00 am), your child(ren) must enter through the upper front door by the salmon mural and check-in at the office. The upper front door is now unlocked during the day so no need to call or ring the doorbell. All parents entering the school must enter through the upper front door and check-in at the office.
If your child(ren) will be absent from school, please email souattendance@vsb.bc.ca or phone 604-713-5159 as soon as possible and leave your child's name, division number, the date and whether they will be absent or late. If you phone, you will be required to use a school code. The Southlands school code is 79#.

Hello, Southlands Families!
It was a beautiful, sunny, but cold, week last week. We are encouraging students to wear their jackets outside. Lots of jackets and sweaters get left on the playground as students warm up when playing. Our Lost and Found is right by the library. Parents are welcome to come in and look for missing jackets and hoodies.
Please expect a school newsletter on Friday, Nov. 25th, even though it is a Non-Instructional Day. All school districts are required to have an Indigenous Focus Day once a year, and the VSB day is Friday. There will be no school for students.

This is the last week for our Winter Holiday Purdys' Fundraiser. Please consider supporting this fundraiser by buying some local chocolate for the upcoming Winter season. All funds raised will go towards the school.

On January 27th, we will hold Lunar New Year activities at the school. We are looking for student and parent volunteers for the event.
The activities will include performances and various entertainment activities. Students of all ethnicities are welcome to participate in the performance, no talent is required, as long as you are interested in participating. Parent volunteers are also needed to assist with the entertainment activities.
