Please make sure you review the daily health assessment (english or simplified chinese) before sending your child(ren) to school. Or use the K-12 Health Check website.
If you are late to school, your child(ren) must enter through the upper front door by the salmon mural and check-in at the office. Please call the office at (604) 713-5414 or use the new doorbell beside the door so they can let the child(ren) in.
If your child(ren) will be absent from school, please email souattendance@vsb.bc.ca or phone 604-713-5159 as soon as possible and leave your child's name, division number, the date and whether they will be absent or late. If you phone, you will be required to use a school code. The Southlands school code is 79#.

Hello Southlands families,
As this school year comes to a close I am feeling so grateful for our community at Southlands, and for all of the patience, commitment, care and energy that our children, guardians, teachers and staff have shown. In the last few weeks in particular, it has been amazing to see parents taking advantage of the opportunity to start organising community events and fundraisers again, and getting so much organised in a short time. From sports day to an amazing staff appreciation lunch to the upcoming grad events for Grade 7s, Southlands volunteers have done our community proud. Thank you to everyone who took part either by organising or supporting these events.
It has been my pleasure to serve as the PAC Chair for the past three years and I am now looking forward to supporting our new exec committee next year. There will be many more opportunities to get involved with PAC community-building and fundraising events next year and I hope that you will also consider joining in to keep our children's school such a special place for them to learn together.

Hello, Southlands Families and Happy Summer!
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the parents and caregivers for your support of the school in so many ways. Great thanks, also, to the members of the PAC who generously give their time, energy, enthusiasm and creativity, all with a focus on equity. We would not be who we are without your kindness. We hope that everyone has a safe and happy summer. Farewell to the families that are leaving Southlands. We look forward to welcoming members of our school community in September.
