Greetings, Southlands Families.
It was a busy week at school! On Wednesday we recognized Orange Shirt Day. Many intermediate classes participated in on-line seminars with others from all over Canada. On Friday, we celebrated Terry Fox Day and walked or ran for Terry. We collected donations at school and online. It is not too late to contribute either way. To donate online got to:

Thank you for your generosity.
As October is about Thanksgiving, we will be having a Fall Food Bank Drive, organized by the Student Leadership Club. Donations of non-perishables will be accepted between Oct. 7th and Oct. 21st. As an IB PYP school, this is one way we can practice caring for others and community-mindedness.
We emailed home a School Newsletter on Friday. But in case you missed it, the staff and students of Southlands have expressed their gratitude to the PAC for the school t-shirts, to the garden volunteers, to others who have contributed planter boxes and flag stands, and so much more. We have a beautiful bulletin board display in the hall:
And here is the link to the video we made. We hope you like it! (It is unlisted – only those with the link can watch).
