All PACs in British Columbia are being asked to indicate the most common ways that parents in their school receive information about vaccination. You can help us to report this information accurately by filling out this very brief survey: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSccRb2_HV3_NjeUWtx36jj02y_siYtkiUnOZp3nKRTyNc1VKQ/viewform?usp=sf_link

Although the survey is about vaccination it is NOT asking your family's views and beliefs about vaccination or your children's vaccination status, and the form is anonymous. Participation in this survey is completely optional.

Hello Southlands Families!

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend our Goal Setting Conferences this week. If you were not able to attend, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher as you can meet to discuss progress at any time of year, not just at conference times.

Today, some Southlands teachers met at school to deepen our understanding of assessment and feedback. Others went to off-site professional development workshops on topics such as Nutrition in Schools, “Let’s Talk About Touching,” Technology, and Storytelling.

Thank you to Ms. Eichhorn and Mr. Lee and the students of Divisions 1 and 2 for organizing and presenting at our Remembrance Day Assembly on Thursday. We are very proud of you all. Special thanks to Mr. James Louis for singing and drumming. It was a memorable morning.

Congratulations to Miller in Kindergarten who won Pizza with the Principal in the November draw.

Please remember to follow us on Twitter @SouthlandsIB and as always, if you have questions or concerns, please get in touch.

Sincerely,
Margaret Paxton (@SouthlandsIB)

Vancouver Coastal Health has sent a note to parents about BC's new Vaccination Status Reporting Regulation that came into effect 1 Jul 2019. In the coming months public health staff will check the immunization records they have on file for school age children. They will identify children whose records are missing or incomplete and contact families of those children.

For more information, please visit https://immunizebc.ca/vaccination-status-reporting-regulation

A date has been set for the always-fantastic Southlands Winter Social on December 18, and the PAC is looking for volunteers to organize our traditional bake sale! Please register if you want to help organize this event!
