Please continue to make sure your child(ren) are healthy and feeling well before sending them to school.
If you are late to school (after 9:00 am), your child(ren) must enter through the upper front door by the salmon mural and check-in at the office. The upper front door is now unlocked during the day so no need to call or ring the doorbell. All parents entering the school must enter through the upper front door and check-in at the office.
If your child(ren) will be absent from school, please email souattendance@vsb.bc.ca or phone 604-713-5159 as soon as possible and leave your child's name, division number, the date and whether they will be absent or late. If you phone, you will be required to use a school code. The Southlands school code is 79#.

Happy New Year, everyone.
On Friday we sent home a Southlands School Newsletter by email. Read it to find out about things going on in the school and our 2024 Southlands Sun Run team!
On Monday and Tuesday, grades 3 - 7 will be having expert volleyball instruction from the Smash volleyball club.
And just a reminder to send students to school with clothing appropriate for the weather. We are checking that students are well-dressed before sending them outside.
Lastly, we are looking for donations of two things: gently-used and complete board games (checkers, chess, Sorry, Battleship, Trouble, backgammon, crib, etc.) and running or inside shoes in good condition - for ages 5 - 10. If you have any to donate, please bring them to the office.Thank you!!

On Sunday, April 21st, the Southlands Sun Run Team will again run the 2.5 km Oasis Youth Team Challenge! We need at least 14 people to sign up, and there must be more students than adults.
Register by March 15th to be included! Training is on your own, but we will have some fun runs at recess after Spring Break.Register at https://event.vansunrun.com/165340/register
