Hello Southlands Families!
I hope your Family Day Weekend included time to connect with each other and an extra day of relaxation.
Last week we welcomed our new Office Assistant, Teresa Sutter, our new teaching colleague Maddi Malone (Division 3) and four new students, bringing our enrollment to 240.
Students in grades 6 and 7 have been working hard on their exhibitions: researching, writing, interviewing experts, and planning service projects. It is inspiring to see such hard-working, committed learners, who want to make a difference in the world. We are so proud of them. Exhibition will be set up during the first week of March.
On Thursday, February 27th we will be celebrating Pink Shirt Day at Southlands. There will be an assembly at 1:15 with Ms. Niblock’s class leading. (The rest of Canada celebrates Pink Shirt Day on the 26th)
Thank you to everyone for warmly welcoming our new friends to our wonderful school. As always, please be in touch with any questions or concerns.
.
Sincerely,
Margaret Paxton ( @SouthlandsIB)
