Hello Southlands families!

The Southlands PAC Direct Donation campaign for the 2022/2023 school year is well underway. This campaign helps Southlands deliver programs and upgraded services to our entire student community that are outside of the VSB funding. Please consider donating, your generous support is greatly appreciated. For a 2021 tax receipt, please donate before the end of this year.

Please review the information previously sent home for details of how you can donate.

Funds raised through this campaign will help support the Outdoor Classroom and Classroom Funds. Our fundraising goals are $10,000 for the Outdoor classroom and $5,000 for Classroom funds.

We would like to say a huge Thank you to our most recent donor to the campaign. We truly appreciate your support! We have been provided with the online donation information from VSB this week and have received an additional 2 online donations in December and we have received one in January.

Our total received to date is $6,400

To receive a tax receipt:

1) Donate Online: http://vsb.schoolcashonline.com/Fee/Details/1869/196/false/true and select "E-Southlands PAC"- this is the quickest way to receive a tax receipt or

2) Provide cash or write a cheque payable to "Southlands Elementary School" noting "2022 PAC Direct Donation" in the memo and include the pink Donor Recognition Form

Just a reminder, please remember to send the Donor Recognition form to school with the details of your donation, even if you donate online, so that we can be timely with our gratitude. This form also informs us if you would like your name to be included in our recognition of your donation or if you would like to be anonymous. If we do not receive the form, your donation will be considered anonymous.

Thank you again for supporting Southlands Elementary!

Dunbar Little League has been the focal point of our Dunbar community in the spring and summer months since 1958 for girls and boys aged 5-12. We are excited to be welcoming children in our community back to the park this spring for a safe COVID friendly season of baseball and invite you to join us, no previous baseball experience is required.

Registration is open now, until January 31st: https://dunbarbaseball.ca/registration/
  • No previous baseball experience is required:
  • We provide a fun, safe and inclusive environment for all children.
  • We provide an extensive development program for players at all stages and levels of play.
  • The season will consist of games as well as practices and will run from April 17th to June 19th.
  • All games and practices are held at Memorial Park West (Dunbar & 33rd) or Balaclava Park (Corner of West 31st & Balaclava)
  • Each player is provided a hat, belt and a team shirt in their registration. There is very little additional equipment required:
    • Cleats or runners
    • Grey baseball pants
    • Jock for boys/Jill for girls
    • Baseball glove
    • Batting helmet
    • Personal bats are welcome but not necessary as we also provide team bats.
DLL has a comprehensive COVID 19 safety plan approved by the Provincial Health Authority. All registrations will be refunded 100% in the event that we are forced to cancel or dramatically alter the season due to the COVID 19 pandemic.

All games are played against other teams within Dunbar Little League, we do not play regular house season games with teams from other leagues which means no travelling and the opportunity to really get to know your neighbours!

We have a fully stocked concession that serves everything from hotdogs and hamburgers to ice cream and slushies. Consider dinner already taken care of the nights your player has a game!

Please join us! What could be better than enjoying the warm spring air, with your friends and neighbours in a COVID safe environment while watching your children playing baseball? We guarantee you will love our engaging community and we can't wait to meet you!
Thank you to the families who have joined our FlipGive team! We have already earned $391 for Southlands programs. We encourage others to join the team using code FRJ3Z5.
