If you are late to school (after 9:00 am), your child(ren) must enter through the upper front door by the salmon mural and check-in at the office. The upper front door is now unlocked during the day so no need to call or ring the doorbell. All parents entering the school must enter through the upper front door and check-in at the office. If your child(ren) will be absent from school, please email souattendance@vsb.bc.ca or phone 604-713-5159 as soon as possible and leave your child's name, division number, the date and whether they will be absent or late. If you phone, you will be required to use a school code. Students may be: asked to stay home/go home asked to leave early/arrive late/have shortened school days asked not to attend field trips or other school activities unable to attend because of health/personal care support needs the school is unable to provide unable to attend because of learning support needs the school is unable to provide not learning with the rest of their class isolated by themselves in the school, secluded and/or restrained If you are the parent or carer of a child who has been excluded from school at any point, we encourage you to fill in this brief, confidential, online questionnaire to help inform the Ombudsperson's investigation.
